SEMINARIO LAS METAS DEL MILENIO Y LA IGUALDAD DE GÉNERO: EL CASO ARGENTINA. Por Claudia Giacometti
Presenta un examen de la situación argentina ante los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio (ODM) destacando la relevancia del análisis de género en cada uno de los objetivos como medio para alcanzar las metas, mientras reitera que la igualdad de género es un objetivo global válido en si mismo. Hace un llamado de atención sobre el déficit de información estadística disponible y los desafíos para el seguimiento adecuado del cumplimiento de las metas.
LA IGUALDAD DE GÉNERO EN LOS OBJETIVOS DE DESARROLLO DEL MILENIO: APORTES PARA LA DEFINICIÓN DE UN PROGRAMA CONJUNTO PARA EL SISTEMA DE NACIONES UNIDAS EN LA ARGENTINA. Por Eleonor Faur
En este documento se presenta, en primer lugar, un marco conceptual que vincula los ODM con los derechos humanos y los acuerdos de cumbres y conferencias internacionales. En segundo lugar, se revisa de modo sucinto la situación de las mujeres y las brechas de género identificadas en las metas priorizadas por el Estado argentino para la promoción de la igualdad de género, así como los vínculos existentes entre el conjunto de los objetivos de desarrollo del milenio y la igualdad entre hombres y mujeres. Finalmente, se presentan algunas estrategias de trabajo que podrían desarrollarse como parte de los esfuerzos interagenciales para la cooperación del sistema de Naciones Unidas con el Estado argentino.
